We hired bikes this morning and headed off to find some beach away from the main bay. Just 10 minutes ride we found a beautiful deserted beach and although a bit disconcerting at first, we couldn't find any warning signs. Of an absence of health and safety warnings in Asia means nothing and we soon found that we were sharing the beach with jellyfish, stingrays and monkeys. Except that the first two were figments of Szilvia's imagination and in fact a plastic bag and rock respectively.

After 4 or 5 hours swimming, sunbathing and getting burnt, we cycled to the next inhabited bay for a bite to eat and a quick shop where I purchased a holiday-only shirt for 2 quid.
We unfairly decided to punish the sting-ray by eating one for dinner and delicious it was too.

Then we watched various mini-firework displays on the beach to see in the new year.
Happy New Year!
